Last chance for free PMAV assistance
Monday, 14 May 2012

AgForce is urging landholders to take advantage of free vegetation management assistance to lock in a Property Map of Assessable Vegetation (PMAV) or change incorrect vegetation maps at free workshops in June.

Free vegetation management workshops will be held at:

Dirranbandi - Tuesday 5 June, 8.45am-4pm
St George - Wednesday 6 June, 8.45am-4pm
Talwood - Thursday 7 June, 8.45am-4pm

AgForce Projects manager Sue Dillon said funding for AgForce Projects' vegetation management project will be coming to an end this after seven years of providing vital assistance to landholders besieged by state vegetation legislation.

"Landholders should come along to a workshop to help them guarantee long term security over management of vegetation on their property," Ms Dillon said.

Ms Dillon said under the new state Government, PMAVs will still underpin property management and provide security in the longer term.

"For producers out there who still don't have a PMAV or have not seen their vegetation maps, we encourage you to take advantage of the free assistance available from our vegetation management team to lock in a PMAV now."

A PMAV gives producers greater control over the activities they can and can't do on their property by securing cleared land or disputing incorrectly mapped areas.
