Western Downs landholders wanting to learn more about resources developments in their area and get advice on how to deal with resources companies are encouraged to attend free workshops being held in Meandarra, Dulacca and Wandoan later this month.
The AgForce Projects Advanced Coal Seam Gas and Mining Negotiation Support workshops provide landholders with the support they need to obtain the best outcome when dealing with coal seam gas or mining on their properties.
CSG Project Leader Daniel Phipps said the free workshops were particularly relevant for landholders who are negotiating, have negotiated or are renegotiating a Conduct and Compensation Agreement (CCA) or make good agreement with a resource company.
"With QGC constructing 300 to 400 wells as part of the development of tenements west of Wandoan and the State Government making available nearly 500 square kilometres of land for petroleum and gas exploration in the south-west, we strongly encourage landholders to remain aware of their rights and responsibilities," he said.
"Resource developments remain an important issue, particularly on the Western Downs, and we want to ensure landholders are as informed as possible in order to protect their properties, their businesses and their livelihoods."
Mr Phipps said workshop attendees would also learn about the latest groundwater modelling and get tips on property planning, mapping and keeping quality baseline records.
The workshops are being held from 8.45am to 1pm, at:
- Meandarra – Tuesday 27 September 2016
- Dulacca – Wednesday 28 September 2016
- Wandoan – Thursday 29 September 2016
To register go to the Events page or call 3238 6048.
These workshops are delivered with the support of the Queensland Government, the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association, the Queensland Resources Council and the GasFields Commission Queensland.
