SLEEP WELL: Strategies to improve sleep
spend one third of our lives asleep and sleep is essential to better
health, but many of us are struggling to get the hours we need.
is a complex state with many functions and poor quality and inadequate
sleep may put our health at risk. Poor quality sleep can also lead to
day time tiredness, poor concentration, irritability and affect our
immune response, leading to more frequent illness.
About 10% of
Australians have a diagnosed sleep disorder but this is likely to be
underestimated, as many people are unaware they have a problem.
